  • Virtual Physicians at HealthLink BC

    HealthLink BC’s virtual physicians provide confidential health information and advice. They can help you stay healthy, get better, manage chronic conditions and seek further treatment, if needed. Visit their website.

    HealthLink BC virtual physicians are available to 8-1-1 callers after assessment by one of their registered nurses.

Alberta

  • Alberta Find a Doctor (AFAD)

    An online tool provided by Alberta Health Services that allows you to search for family doctors and other healthcare providers in your area. Search for available doctors by visiting the AFAD website.


    CPSA Physician Search

    Use the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta search tool to find practice information on any specialist or family doctor in Alberta. Visit their website.

  • Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA)

    The Saskatchewan Health Authority is responsible for the delivery of health services in the province. You can contact them directly to inquire about available family doctors in your area or visit their website.

  • Healthline

    HealthLine 811 is a free, confidential health advice and information line that operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Manitoba

  • Manitoba Health Care Providers Directory

    It is an online tool provided by the Government of Manitoba that allows you to search for family doctors and other healthcare professionals in your area. Visit their website to learn more.

    Family Doctor Connection Line

    A service that helps connect individuals with family doctors who are accepting new patients. You can register online or call 204-786-7111 (in Winnipeg) or Toll-free at 1-866-690-8260; TTY/TDD call 774-8618 or Manitoba Relay Services toll-free 1-800-855-0511.

    Home Clinics and My Health Teams

    They are teams of care providers that work together to plan and deliver services for a geographic area or specific community or population. Inquire with your regional health authority office about available family doctors. You can find information about your regional health authority office on the Manitoba Health website.

  • Health Links-Info Santé

    Health Links-Info Santé is a telephone health information service staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week by knowledgeable, experienced nurses and is free of charge everywhere in Manitoba. Ontario

  • Health Care Connect

    A program run by the Ontario Ministry of Health that helps connect people with family doctors or nurse practitioners who are accepting new patients. You can call 8-1-1 to enroll in the program or register online.

  • Health811

    A free, secure and confidential service people in Ontario can access 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to receive health advice from a registered nurse, locate local health services and find trusted health information. Call 811 (TTY: 1-866-797-0007), chat online or access resources online at ontario.ca/health811.

Quebec

  • Quebec Family Doctor Finder (Guichets d'accès à un médecin de famille)

    Known as GAMF (Groupe d'accès pour les médecins de famille), a service provided by the Quebec Ministry of Health. It helps residents find a family doctor who is accepting new patients.

    Register on the waiting list through the Québec Family Doctor Finder online at Québec Family Doctor Finder (GAMF) or through the Québec Health Booklet; or by contacting your territory waiting list (Guichet d’accès pour la clientèle orpheline – GACO).

  • Info-Santé 811

    Info-Santé 811 nurses evaluate your health situation and give advice based on your condition. They can answer your questions about your health and direct you to the most appropriate resource in your region.

New Brunswick

  • NB Health Link

    NB Health Link has replaced the previous versions of the orphan patient waitlist. Patients can add their name to wait for a primary care provider but also receive care while they wait from a series of clinics across the province. Visit their website to learn more.

  • Tele-Care 811

    A free, confidential health advice to all New Brunswickers. Connect with bilingual navigators and nurses who can provide information, discuss symptoms, and advise if you need to see a provider.

Nova Scotia

  • Family Practice Registry

    There is a Family Practice Registry where you can add your name to a list for a family doctor. Register online through the NSHA website or by calling 8-1-1.

  • 811 Nova Scotia

    Nova Scotians may access health information and advice by dialing 8-1-1. Registered Nurses are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide reassurance concerning general health issues and questions.

Prince Edward Island

  • Patient Registry Program

    A program that helps individuals find a family doctor or nurse practitioner in the province. You can register online on the find a family doctor or nurse practitioner website, or call 1-855-563-2101 for assistance.

  • 811 Telehealth

    A registered nurse is available 24 hours a day to answer your health questions over the phone and will help you determine whether you require emergency or non-urgent medical attention; provide current, reliable information related to your health issue; and offer helpful guidance about health services available in the province. Newfoundland and Labrador

  • Patient Connect NL
    If you are without a primary care provider or will be without a provider in the next three months, you can register on Patient Connect NL.

  • 811 HealthLine

    A confidential and free telephone line available to all residents of Newfoundland and Labrador.

    You can speak with a registered nurse who may provide information and support and connect you to health services in your area.
